But, this money comes with volumes of restrictions and ambiguous guidance. Still more funding is anticipated from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. BACKGROUND As a member of a career military (Navy) family, Kris knows the value and necessity of teamwork, service, sacrifice and commitment. Upholding the philosophy that business goals must be aligned with moral values, Kris’s family business has responsibly managed commercial agriculture (planting pine trees for carbon sequestration) as well as the development of residential properties.
EDUCATION Kris’s B.S.B.A. in accounting from UCF will add professional expertise to the City’s budgeting process which is not currently provided by any current or prospective commission member. As an attorney, Kris’s law degree will serve him well when exercising his responsibility for passing or rejecting the countless quasi-judicial decisions required of a sitting commissioner.
EXPERIENCE As a member of the Orange County Government Development Advisory Board, Kris is acutely conscious of Orange County’s Vision 2050 which seeks to promote new and intensified urban development through infill and redevelopment with a greater mix of uses in order to accommodate the anticipated 700,000 new residents by 2050. Because of Kris’s awareness of the potential unintended consequences this may have for Winter Park, he is prepared to take the proactive actions necessary to maintain our quality of life as growth explodes around us.
